How do successful people think? Do think differently or the same as everyone else? If you could think like them, would you be a successful entrepreneur instead of an office clerk or a forklift driver? Studies show that the mindset of successful people are a little bit different from a lot people. For instance, there is no failure in their mind. There are results of actions. Failure is the keystone to successful. Thomas Edison;s light bulb story is one of them. He has tried hundreds of time before the first light bulb was created. He did not consider all the previous experiment as failure and give up.
That's right, you don't give up. A successful person is persistent. He may not be patient, but he is willing to try the same things in different ways until he succeeds. He is goal-oriented and independent. A dependent person tends to have other people think and make decisions for them. You don't have to be the next Thomas Edison or Bill Gates. You will just be a successful you.
The thinking pattern of a successful entrepreneur is willing to take challenges and lead. If you are always behind a safe curtain, you will never know what opportunities are ahead you. Nor would you figure out ways to get around. A winner goes out there and accepts challenging tasks. Even thought he may fail a few times, at least he has tried. If Bill Gates never opened his business whether he had dropped out college or not, computers would probably have been available to everyone. Or computers would have still been easy for everyone to get but the person who contributed this would not be Bill Gates. Light bulbs would have not been connected with the name Thomas Edison.
What do athletes do to win gold? They train and train. They need to do the same training over and over again for years to win one gold. Michael Phelps started swimming as a child. His determination paved his way to Olympics gold medals. His controversial smoking behavior triggered debates and disagreement among public. It did not match the hard-working athletes images, did it? Success is not a secret but a mindset. If you are easily frustrated, change it. Change the way you think, change your point of view. You did not win the million-dollar bid for your company. Instead of feeling sad, think of as an experience. You know next time you will do better and you will bid a better deal. Set your goals. Do not fear. Be bold and fearless.
